a winter walk

It was a beautiful winter's afternoon and the sun was out so we decided we get out of the house and go for a family walk, all five of us, in the paddock... Alex brought his good camera along and we spent time exploring, playing, rambling and capturing the golden light as it fell across grass, tree, face... I am so glad for these portraits of my little boys, of my love and I. When I look back at these in years to come I know I won't see my dark circles and weary face - I'll see a nine month old baby with delicious full cheeks and star fish hands, a two-year-old with a cheeky grin and big (almost knock you over) hugs, a curious five-year-old who inspected weathered bones and hung upside down like a "tree lizard"...  a dad who took time to play and build stick forts, and a mama who smiled and laughed and held her kin tight...
